Thank you for your interest in SI Santa Barbara. We were chartered in 1955 and have been going strong ever since, attracting professional women in the community with the energy and passion for service.
Our signature service project in the local community is Safety Town. This program has been in operation continuously for more than 30 years as a fee-for-service summer camp. In recent years, we have developed a scholarship program for the camp, which due to the generosity of local foundations, has doubled the size of the program, allowing us to reach many more children who more broadly represent the community. Read more about it under Safety Town.
We have an awards and recognition program for women in the community who are making a difference. Read more about these under Award Programs.
Soroptimist International uses its official status with the United Nations to advocate on behalf of women’s issues. Our club is involved in programs that raise our awareness of issues facing women globally and look for opportunities to make a difference abroad.
